Bradley Concrete & Lambcon History

Bradley Concrete was established in the small town of Cleveland, Tennessee, with the hopes of providing for a newly formed family, never dreaming that the company would grow to it’s current size.  This venture would not be without its setbacks and in the early 1980’s, Bradley Concrete experienced the same financial turbulence as many other small businesses across the nation.  Hard work, diligence, and determination paved the company’s path during these uncertain times.

History 1The hard work began to show promise when an opportunity to purchase a small piece of property in Ooltewah, Tennessee came to fruition.  The Ooltewah plant initially understaffed, but was reinforced to full sized operations in the spring of 1997.  This marked the establishment of Lambert Concrete, with brothers Steve and Kelly Lambert holding the proprietary reins.  Lambert Concrete has enjoyed sustained growth serving the Hamilton County and surrounding area markets.  Bradley Concrete also achieved gains in the Bradley County and neighboring market areas throughout the 1990’s.

As time passed, Steve’s sons, Kirk and Adam, decided to follow their father’s footsteps upon their graduations from the University of Tennessee in 1994 and 2002 respectively.  As the Lambert family grew, an overwhelming desire to grow the business became evident.  Partnerships were made and, coupled with the knowledge gleaned from over twenty years of concrete production experience, the newest Lambert venture, Lambcon Incorporated was born.  Lambcon’s first plant was erected in Athens, Tennessee, in September of 2003.

First TruckIn 2005, the Lamberts were approached by the ownership of Greenback Crushed Stone and invited to erect a plant at the Lenoir City, Tennessee, quarry site.  This concrete plant was operational in April of 2005 and the business grew to new, previously unattained levels providing customers in Maryville, West Knoxville, Lenoir City, and Loudon with a different option for ready-mixed concrete.  Quality, service, and dependability became the hallmarks of Lambcon and word soon spread around the area that there was a new force to be reckoned with.  This reputation led to the Lamberts being offered another invitation to set up a plant in Madisonville, Tennessee, just off Highway 411 at the Rogers Group Quarry.  The Madisonville plant was operational in June of 2007.  The opening of this plant allowed customers of the Lamberts to have the ability to purchase concrete from Chattanooga to Knoxville along the I-75 corridor with one account.
