August 8, 2016 - CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Officials with Santek Waste Services, LLC. announced today its second acquisition in as many months. August 1st, Santek purchased all of the assets of Riverside Waste Services in Splendora, Texas. Two months ago, Santek acquired the assets of Blount Waste Services, Inc. in Hayden, Alabama. The transactions include all of Riverside Waste’s residential, commercial and industrial customers while Santek acquired all of Blount Waste's residential accounts. Santek Chief Business Development Officer Edward Caylor said the purchases of these companies enhance Santek's growing presence in the Northeast Houston and Birmingham markets. “We're extremely pleased to be acquiring companies with such rich heritages in their respective communities, " Caylor said. "We’re looking forward to continuing these companies’ commitment to outstanding customer service." June 3, 2016 - CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Officials with Santek Waste Services, LLC. announced today the company’s acquisition of Blount Waste Services, Inc. in Hayden, Alabama. Effective June 1, 2016, the transaction includes all of Blount Waste's residential waste collection customers in Blount County. Because Santek is a privately held company, the terms of the acquisition are not being publicly disclosed. Waste Services of Alabama, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Santek, acquired all of Blount Waste's assets. Santek Chief Business Development Officer Edward Caylor said the purchase of the 40-year-old company enhances Santek's growing presence in the Birmingham market. “We're extremely pleased to be acquiring a company with such a rich heritage in Blount County, " Caylor said. "Owners Randy and Libby Shelton have done an excellent job of meeting the waste disposal needs of Blount County residents and we're looking forward to continuing their commitment to outstanding customer service." Caylor also said the acquisition of Blount Waste complements Santek's operation of the Mount Olive and Turkey Creek landfills which are located in Jefferson County, Alabama. "The addition of Blount Waste is a very strategic acquisition for Santek because it gives us the ability to guarantee waste volumes to the Mount Olive and Turkey Creek landfills," Caylor said. "It also adds a new market to our expanding solid waste collection presence in the Birmingham area." January 4, 2016 - CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Officials with Santek Waste Services, LLC. announced today the company’s acquisition of Waste Transport Service, LLC in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, the transaction includes all of Waste Transport's residential, commercial and industrial waste collection customers in Hardin, Meade and LaRue counties. Because Santek is a privately held company, the terms of the acquisition are not being publicly disclosed. Waste Services of Kentucky, LLC, a newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary of Santek, acquired all Waste Transport's assets. The purchase includes 14,000 residential customers, 346 commercial and industrial waste customers, and 24 collection vehicles. Santek Chief Business Development Officer Edward Caylor said the purchase of the 17-year-old company complements Santek's operation of the Pearl Hollow Landfill which is owned by Hardin County, Kentucky. “The addition of Waste Transport is a very strategic acquisition for Santek because it gives us the ability to internalize new waste volumes at the Pearl Hollow Landfill and gives us a solid waste collection presence in the Elizabethtown market," Caylor said. As part of the transaction, Santek will integrate all existing Waste Transport employees into Santek’s work force. Waste Transport owners Wayne and Barbara Smith opted to retire. December 15, 2015 - CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Santek Waste Services, Inc., the nation's largest privately held manager of publicly owned solid waste landfills, has completed a $153 million recapitalization of the Cleveland, Tennessee-based company, according to Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Higgins. The financing was comprised of a Revolving Credit Facility, a Unitranche Senior Term Loan as well as a Delayed Draw term Loan led by Goldman Sachs Specialty Lending Group, LP and Benefit Street Partners, LLC,. Additionally, Lampert Debt Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor and placement agent to Santek. Santek estimates its 2016 revenues to be $107 million. "This financing provides Santek with the platform and capital to realize our plans for growth by building waste collection activities that leverage our investment in landfill operations," Higgins said. "The unused capital capacity inherent in this financing will fuel our internal growth and growth through acquisitions." Headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee, Santek is a leading, vertically integrated waste management company and currently manages 17 solid waste landfills, five transfer stations, and waste collection divisions in five states, predominately in the Southeast. October 1, 2015 - JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. - Effective October 1, 2015, Waste Services of Alabama (WSAL) began servicing more than 30,000 residential customers in the cities of Hoover and Gardendale, Alabama. The municipal contracts represent a strategic complement to sister company Santek Environmental of Alabama's landfill management contract with the Jefferson County Commission. Santek began managing the county's waste disposal facilities in 2006. WSAL has invested more than $8.2 million in new vehicles, rolling carts and equipment. "We're humbled by the confidence city leaders have placed in us and we're excited about the future opportunities this base of business will open up to us," Dillender said. Santek Waste Services is WSAL's parent company and manages a total of 17 landfills and five transfer stations in nine states. Waste Services' affiliates manage more than 45,000 residential customers, and more than 8,500 commercial and industrial customers in a four-state region. April 10, 2015 - ESTILL SPRINGS, Tennessee – Waste Services of Tennessee (WST) began managing the Estill Springs Transfer Station, effective April 1st. The station is owned by the Interlocal Solid Waste Authority (ISWA), a quasi-governmental entity comprised of Bedford, Franklin, Giles, Lincoln and Moore counties and the City of Tullahoma. WST is responsible for disposing of ISWA's waste at a Santek-managed landfill. Santek Waste Services is WST's parent company and manages a total of 17 landfills in nine states. "We're pleased to have a new governmental partner in ISWA, and we intend to work with them to provide a quality transportation and disposal program," said Eddie Caylor, Santek's chief business development officer.
